BIOGRAPHY:
Potts Point teenager Jesinta Campbell will head to Las Vegas in August to represent Australia in the international Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Ms Campbell, 18, recently moved to Sydney from the Gold Coast.
She beat 29 other finalists including Perth’s Renae Wauhop, who was runner-up , and Lia Tapper from Perth, who came third.
The Miss Universe pageant will be held in Nevada on August 23.
In her acceptance speech, Ms Campbell said she felt “privileged” to represent her country overseas.
“It’s absolutely incredible,” she said.
Campbell, a journalism student, will put her studies on hold until after the competition.
