PHILIPPINES DRAMA: TAYONG DALAWA (TWO OF US) - SYNOPSIS EPISODE 41 TO 50

Episode 41 - A jealous brother

The news of Dave’s death has also been a huge shock to JR’s family especially to Marlene who has always felt close to him for some reason. But when Ramon learns about what happened, he ignores the fact that JR is grieving because of how the latter refused to bail him out of jail before he went to his mission. Ramon believes that if Dave had been in his situation, JR wouldn’t think twice to use his clout in the military whether he really is at fault or not. As such, he doesn’t care anymore about his family’s safety as he plans to escape Leo’s clutches together with Olivia and Nico. They have stolen money from Leo’s bank account and are getting ready to go some place far from his reach. What happens though if Leo retaliates by putting his family’s life in danger?

Episode 42 - Ramon kills Leo to save Lola Gets.

Seeing Ramon with a huge stash of money inside his room urges Lola Gets to follow him to work again. There she stumbles upon Leo hitting Ramon for trying to cover up for Nico’s sudden disappearance. Though she can’t fully understand what their whole argument is about, she unthinkingly comes out in the open and lashes out at Leo for hurting her grandson. Ramon drags her away from the scene but Leo’s men later catches up on her just as she’s about to step inside the safety of their home. Left without a choice, Ramon musters his courage to kill Leo and his cronies with the help of Olivia. Then they set Lola Gets free without letting her know who they really are. Even so, Lola Gets knows that Ramon was involved in killing Leo whose dead body was later found by the authorities. Panic-stricken, she attempts to explain what happened to her back home but both Marlene and JR could hardly believe her story. The fact that Ramon has found an alibi with the help of Greta compels her to keep her mouth shut for now. In the meantime, Ramon decides not to run away anymore as he plans to continue Leo’s illegal operation together with Nico and Olivia. Has he really become cold-hearted to the point that he could think of getting revenge against JR someday?

Episode 43 - Ingrid blames JR for her son’s death.

Stanley still believes that it was Audrey who stole his savings that he kept hidden inside his cabinet. Even when Stan owns up to his offense, he continues to blame Audrey and tells her to clear out of their home if she fails to give the money back to him within a week’s time. To make matters worse, Stanley accuses her of fooling around with JR soon after Dave’s death. He fumes that she is the reason why Ingrid doesn’t want to go through their agreed merger anymore.

But when JR learns that she often gets a hard beating from her dad, he angrily confronts Stanley about it and tells him never to hurt her again or else he would answer to him. As such, Stanley leaves Audrey be in the following days though he still sternly reminds her about his missing money and what will happen if it doesn’t turn up soon. This further worries Stan who recently discovers that his friend has already squandered the money in a bad investment. So when Ramon later offers to lend him the sum he needed, the susceptible teenager quickly agrees to work for him as a messenger.

Meantime, Ingrid finds out that it was JR’s fault why Dave was left to die during their fateful scuffle with the rebels. Though it was his job to secure the victim’s safety first and foremost, he could hardly deny her accusations as he also holds himself responsible for what happened. Ingrid then further drowns in misery just as the Dionisios’ happily basks in the news that the court has ruled in favor of JR regarding his paternity case and is hailed as a legal heir of David Garcia. Is this the beginning of a new life for him? Will he find a way to assuage his guilt towards his brother’s death?

Episode 44 - Guilt feelings

Ever since the court recognized JR as a legal heir of David, Marlene has asserted her son’s right to take control of his share in the Garcia’s supermarket chain. She insists to be there during board meetings, to supervise the business’s day-to-day operations, and to closely work side by side with Elizabeth. Irritated beyond belief, the latter asks Ingrid to pull herself together and resume her responsibilities at work. Then as soon as she’s back, she assigns Marlene in the waste management department just to piss her off.

9 months quickly pass by and yet JR is still blaming himself over Dave’s death. He often visits his grave telling to himself over and over again that he never meant to let him die. His guilt even causes him to volunteer for another risky search and operation despite his mother’s protests. When he bade Marlene goodbye at the supermarket, JR also bumps into Audrey and casually leaves her without revealing his true feelings again. As it is, he knows how much Dave loves her and he will never betray him by following his heart’s desire. Will JR come back safe and unharmed from his skirmish with the rebels?

Episode 45 - JR and Audrey’s first kiss

JR almost died during his recent mission and his commander is furious at him for being reckless in saving the kidnapped victim at the cost of his life. Everyone knows that he shouldn’t punish himself for Dave’s death by being too hard on himself but he remains deaf to reason. As such, his friends relay what happened to Audrey as she is the only person who can make him get his act together.

Upon hearing the news of his near accident, she immediately confronts JR to tell him that it is also her fault why Dave died. He could have not gone to that fateful mission if only she accepted his marriage proposal. JR on the other hand couldn’t bear to see her suffering so he immediately gives her a comforting hug and a light kiss on her forehead. Then he gets carried away as he also kisses her on the lips. When Audrey pulls away though, he quickly walks away, trying his best to hide his overwhelming emotions.

The incident has further confused JR so he decides to go on an out of town trip to clear his head. He begins to realize that he couldn’t keep his promise to Dave anymore because he has developed feelings for Audrey ever since he saved her from falling down a cliff when they were still kids. Is pursuing Audrey the only way for him to go?

Episode 46 - JR and Audrey are in love

Since both JR and Audrey refuse to act on their feelings for each other, Dolores paves the way for them by bringing them together in Tagaytay. As it happens, JR went there to sort things out on his own and the answer came when he stumbles upon Audrey on the same spot where he first saw her when they were kids. But this time, he not only catches her from another risky fall but also saves them both from turning back on the strong bond that they have had from the very start.

But even though Dolores assured them that they have the right to forget about the past and move on, the two of them opt to keep their relationship a secret for now. JR’s unusual giddiness, however, didn’t go past Greta who senses that he and Audrey have finally reached an understanding. True enough, she catches them looking sweet together during one of their trysts. She later confronts JR about it but the latter refuses to explain his actions to her. As such, Greta decides to leave his house and vows to get even with him soon.

Can JR stop Greta from destroying his new-found relationship with Audrey?

Episode 47 - Dave is still alive

Audrey and Greta have chanced upon each other in the supermarket and the latter almost spilled her secret relationship with JR to Ingrid. Greta further shows that she’s in control by withholding the info for now and keep Audrey worried about what she will do next. There’s really nothing else she could do because she doesn’t want to cause more trouble between Stanley and Ingrid now that they’re back to business. But then JR assures her that he would provide for her and her family once they are married. As it happens, he has already asked for her hand in marriage and is simply waiting for her to say yes. Little did they know that Dave has merely fallen into the hands of the terrorists but is preparing to escape anytime soon.

In the meantime, Angela is slowly winning the trust of Lola Lily by serving her well and spinning lies about Stanley. It seems that she also has her eye on the Kings’ family business as part of her plan to get revenge for the way they have maltreated Loretta when she was still alive. This is also the reason why she feels close towards Marlene as she hates to see people who are oppressed. As a matter of fact, she relates to Marlene how she overheard Ingrid and Elizabeth discussing a way to get rid of her from their business. When will Marlene find out that these two are covering up the fact that she is David’s legal wife?

Episode 48 - JR proposes marriage to Audrey

Trouble awaits JR and Audrey’s respective families as Elizabeth discovers that Angela happens to be Marlene’s spy in the supermarket. It is now to her advantage that she is aware that both Marlene and Angela are keeping tabs on her and Ingrid’s every move. Ingrid, however, feels close towards Audrey for she is the only living reminder of Dave and she has been almost like a daughter to her from the very start.

Unbeknownst to her, JR has already proposed marriage to Audrey and she has accepted it despite the obvious struggles and objections of the people around them. As a matter of fact, Greta is furious when she heard the news from Ramon and even vows that she will never leave the couple at peace. Protesting to JR does her no good as he merely reiterates that he can never love her with or without Audrey in his life.

Episode 49 - Stanley wants JR out of Audrey’s life

What’s worse than having everything you believe in turn upside down? First, Ingrid gets a call from Dave in the middle of the night, telling her that he’s alive and is merely captured by a bunch of rebels. Then Stan finally discovers that Ramon is into illegal gun-running and he unknowingly became a part of his business by working for him under the guise of a messenger. Third, Lily furiously disinherits Stanley again because Angela made her believe that her son thinks she’s a lunatic.

Unaware of what Angela has been doing behind his back, Stanley’s temper further rises when a delivery boy suddenly turns up with a bouquet of flowers for Audrey. He immediately hits her upon learning that it was JR who sent them. As it happens, he’s scared that Ingrid will cut her business ties with him at the same time his mother disowned him. Since Angela comes to Audrey’s defense, Stanley opts to confront JR about it and threatens to destroy his career if he doesn’t get out of Audrey’s life.

Later on, JR assumes that it was Greta who sent the flowers to Audrey out of spite. He tries to force the truth out of her but she refuses to own up to her scheme. While it’s true that Greta vowed to get even after being rejected by JR, Ramon is the real culprit this time around. As it is, he wants to ruin the friendship between JR and Greta so the latter will finally have no choice but to turn to him. How will JR handle the increasing conflict surrounding him and Audrey?

Back in Mindanao, Dave is still being held captive by the rebels despite his countless attempts to escape their clutches. Though he was able to run away from their camp, the civilians who later found him are also allies of the terrorists. As such, it’s only a matter of time before he gets caught again. The rebels would never let him go for they need him squeal where the soldiers’ hideout is. Will Dave ever get himself out of his situation? What happens once his family learns that he is still alive?

Episode 50 - JR and Audrey set their wedding date

Back in Mindanao, Dave is being tortured in many ways by the rebels who discovered that he happens to be the leader of a platoon of soldiers. As such, they are forcing him to squeal the armed forces’ secret base within the vicinity. But since he refuses to give them any clue as to where their hideout is located, the leader of the rebels threatens to kill his family as well.

Ramon, however, is able to trace Dave’s whereabouts as he decided to trail after the rebels who often order illegal firearms from him. He keeps mum about it though for he wants to choose the best timing for the news to be more damaging for JR and Audrey. When Stan attempts to voice out his objection since his sister’s welfare is being comprised, the former brutally reminds him of the fact that Stan’s loyalty already belongs to him.

Left without a choice, Stan keeps his mouth shut even after JR sets a wedding date for him and Audrey in a few days time. Can no one stop Ramon from destroying his loved ones’ lives just because of his longstanding jealousy towards his brother? What about Dave? Will he still come out alive from the hands of such cold-hearted terrorists?
