MISS ITALY 2010 - Francesca Testasecca
At the age of 75, actress Sophia Loren crowned the new Miss Italy, the beautiful 19 year-old model Francesca Testasecca. The most traditional Italian beauty pageant took place last Monday night, in Salsomaggiore.
Francesca edged out other 59 beauties, including a transsexual, whose participation was focus of discussion and controversy around the world last week.
The runner-ups were Giulia Nicole Magro e Giulia Di Quinzio.
Miss Italy does not compete in international pageants. Miss World and Miss Universe Italian representatives are chosen in two other national contests.
