INTERVIEW:

My life ambition for the moment is to represent the best I could my country French Polynesia at Miss Earth 2010. To promote my beautiful country around the world.

Describe your childhood when you were growing up from 8 to 13 years old.

My childhood was one of the best moments of my life. Since I was 5 years old until 10 years old, I practiced Tahitian dance at a major dance school in Tahiti called "conservatoire". From 11 to 13 years old, I practiced karate with my cousins and one of my favorite uncles that I lost 3 years ago. It was also the time I drove my first Jet Ski and went fishing with the clients of my parents' company. I grew up in the tourism field with my parents and I helped them by greeting their clients with a Tahitian welcome dance. I started to travel with my parents on cruise ships. I went to Mexico, Alaska, Caribbean and Hawaii. All these cruises were unforgettable.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?

The lessons I learnt from my childhood years are: always share what we have, be happy with what we have and also what we are given, take care of everyone around you, family, friends and people who are in a difficult situation, love your pets, always respect our parents because we have just one mother and one father, thank our parents for what they are doing for us, and help the smallest ones without expecting anything in return.

What is your most memorable moment?

To this date, my most memorable moment is when I won the title of Miss Moorea. I was so happy that I could represent my home island at the Miss French Polynesia pageant, and now at Miss Earth. It is a pleasure for me to represent the best of my homeland paradise called French Polynesia. It is a huge opportunity for me and a good experience that I can be proud of.

What is your environmental advocacy?

Protect our lagoons and preserve the beauty of my islands in French Polynesia. I want to raise awareness amongst my people that our lagoons and the corals in them are important for us as everyone live off them, whether they are fishermen, or working in the tourism industry.

They should understand that polluting the lagoons and the sea will only backfire and destroy our tourism industry.
