So Yi Jung blowing his saxophone for Chu Ga Eul to listen but is admire by other the adoring girls. Chu ga Eul’s boyfriend approaches her to finds that she was indeed pretty from her dressing since they last met & asked her if she wants to go out with him. By then So Yi Jung comes & call out to her to asked who was the person then he signal to shakes his head. Reading the cue from So Yi Jung, Cha Ga Eul tells So Yi Jung that she doesn’t know the person in question. Chu Ga Eul ex-boyfriend asked who is this wretched brat is, So Yi Jung tells to the crowd that Chu Ga Eul had stolen his heart & vowed never to return back to him. The girls in the crowd were disappointed. So Yi Jung asked her not to worry & come follow him. So Yi Jung offer his hand. Chu Ga Eul takes the offer hands & walk away from the scene with So Yi Jung. Then a scruff old grumpy man comes carrying his fishing gear & tells this restaurant is pathetic & orders jajamyun from a porridge restaurant. Geum Jan Di & Chu Ga Eul said that the Chinese restaurant is across the street if he wants to eat jajamyun. The old man insist that he still want to eat jajamyun from this restaurant. Bom Chun Sik, the porridge shop owner said he will make it for the customer & asked him to wait.
The old man wallop the bowl & Geum Jan Di asked was it & the old man criticize it is the worst bowl of jajamyun he has eaten in his life, a person who cook this, is not qualify to be a cook. Then Geum Jan Di asked how they are going to charge the jajamyun while negotiating for the price the grumpy old man barter the fish he caught for the bowl of jajamyun. Chu Ga Eul said that they take money & not barter. The grumpy old man will not pay money for the lousy food he just ate. The grumpy old man said that he will come to eat Maeuntang the next time he visit to see how cook is the cook in this restaurant. Geum Jan Di & Chu Ga Eul shocked that grumpy old man will visit again. Bom Chuk Sik is disappointed with the criticism
Megi Maeuntang is a hot spicy catfish soup boiled with gochujang (Korean chilli pepper paste), gochukaru (chilli powder) and various vegetables. As its main ingredient, fresh or sea-water fish is cut into several pieces and boiled with ground beef and green vegetables such as watercress as well as garland chrysanthemum. In addition, onion, radish, chillies, crown daisy, garlic and some times, pumpkin and bean curds are added to the mixture to absorb the gochujang which is the base flavour of this dish. It is then seasoned with gochukaru, garlic, soy sauce and potentially more gochujang to meet everyone’s taste buds. Chu Ga Eul asked whether Bom Chuk Sik is going to cook Maeuntang for the grumpy old man to eat. Geum Jan Di ponders that tomorrow is Valentine day & Chu Ga Eul said she will give her chocolate that she is grateful to. Geum Jan Di recalls Yoon Ji Hoo as she is being grateful to. Then in the event, there for a competition in giving out freebies hand phone & Geum Jan Di signals Goo Joon Pyo to participate, with their darting eye contact. The contest is to hold you partner the longest. Then while holding one Madam Kang comes to the venue then to see her son carrying Geum Jan Di to pitch for a prize. Chu Ga Eul waiting to give her chocolates, but So Yi Jung is seen with 2 girls in his arms & asked what brings her here. So Yi Jung asked to put hers with the rest, but with her dignity, Chu Ga Eul leaves with her chocolate. So Yi Jung runs after her & tell that it is all acting. So Yi Jung takes her chocolate & said that he will keep her until she meets her soul mate.
While walking the dejected Geum Jan Di is pick up by Yoon Ji Hoo & give her a ride on his motorcycle. Geum Jan Di asked how did Yoo Ji Hoo knows how to pick her up. Yoon Ji Hoo said it was just telepathy for the pick up service. Goo Joon Pyo calls Yoon Ji Hoo when he was drag away. Yoon Ji Hoo sends Geum Jan Di back to her house. Madam Kang finds the true identity of Geum Jan Di’s family background from the photographs. Goo Joon Pyo realise that something bad is about to be happened to Geum Jan Di that he is reallt feeling uneasy about the matter, the worst that when Geum Jan Di is in the risk of danger, he might not able to sense that danger for her. Madam Kang wants the Geum to sign the promissory note that they will not have any contact with Goo Joon Pyo, all they needs to sign & the money is theirs to have. Then the angry Na Gong Joo pours the whole bowl of salt at Madam Kang.
Throwing salt at someone is to indicate to drive out evil spirits from the house. Na Gong Joo is upset that Madam Kang can looks down on her daughter & scream for her husband to drag madam Kang out of the house. Geum Jan Di swimming her laps then after her swim, she enters the auditorium to finds Yoon Ji Hoo practicing the piano. After his piece, Yoon Ji Hoo asked whether she has a ticket to watch. The next day, Geum Jan Di is looking for part time but no success.
